Sunday School

Sunday School at St. Stephen is an exciting opportunity for our children people, giving them an opportunity to grow on their faith journey.

We offer two Sunday School classes, one at 9:45 a.m. one at 11:00 a.m.  All children start in the sanctuary.  After the Children's Sermon, children leave the sanctuary and meet their Sunday Schiool Shepherd in the gym.  Shepherds take them to their class for that day and parents/caregivers pick children up in their classroom at the end of services.

2009_back_to_the_bible_0.JPGA three-week rotation is used and each Sunday your child will participate in a different class session.  Using lessons of love and understanding, children learn bible stories, the importance of being a good friend and neighbor, assist with projects around the church, learn some wonderful bible songs and enjoy fellowship with other children.  This year we will continue with our focus on learning our Bibles and ask that all children who have received a bible as part of their Growing in Faith class bring those bibles with them to Sunday School.

Sunday School registration is open NOW.  Please complete the 2011-12 Sunday School Registration Form and turn it into the Welcome Desk in the narthex or the church office as soon as possible.  We do ask that your child register for Sunday School EVERY YEAR, even if they have previously been part of St. Stephen Sunday School.

While we encourage membership, you and your child do not need to be members in order to participate in our Sunday School classes.

It seems that every year our Sunday School program continues to grow and is more successful than the previous year.  In order for that trend to continue, we need your help.  Opportunities exist for Sunday School Shepherds, Leaders and Assistants during both Sunday School time periods.  Please indicate your interest on the 2011-12 Sunday School Registration Form and return it to the Welcome Desk in the narthex or the church office.  All curriculum and teaching materials are provided for you and are very comprehensive.

For questions regarding our Sunday School program, please contact Ashlie Keith, Director of Christian Education.
