Sunday School

Sunday School at St. Stephen is an exciting opportunity for our children people, giving them an opportunity to grow on their faith journey.

We offer two Sunday School classes, one at our 9:45 service and one at our 11:00 service.  All children will start in the sanctuary.  After the Children's Sermon, children will leave the sanctuary and meet their Sunday Schiool Shepherd in the narthex.  Their shepherd will then take them to their class for that day and parents/caregivers will pick children up in their classroom upon the completion of the service.

We use a four-week rotation teaching model and each Sunday in the four week period,  your child will participate in a different class session.  Using lessons of love and understanding, your children will learn bible stories, the importance of being a good friend and neighbor, assist with different projects around the church, learn some wonderful bible songs and enjoy fellowship with children their own age.  This year we will be focusing on learning our Bibles and ask that all children who have received a bible as part of their Growing in Faith class bring those bibles with them to Sunday School.

Sunday School registration is open NOW.  Please complete the 2009-2010 Sunday School Registration Form and turn it into the Welcome Desk in the narthex or the church office as soon as possible.  We do ask that your child register for Sunday School EVERY YEAR, even if they have been part of St. Stephen Sunday School previously.  You can also register your child for Wednesday Night Activities and Choirs on this form.

While we encourage membership, you and your child do not need to be members in order to participate in our Sunday School classes.

It seems that every year our Sunday School program continues to grow and is more successful than the previous year.  In order for that trend to continue, we need your help.  Opportunities exist for Sunday School Shepherds, Leaders and Assistants during both Sunday School time periods.  Please indicate your interest on the 2009-2010 Sunday School Registration Form and return it to the Welcome Desk in the narthex or the church office.  All curriculum and teaching materials are provided for you and are very comprehensive.
