MEA Getaway - 2010

The MEA Getaway at Castaway is a fantastic, fabulous annual trip available to our Senior High Youth (Grade 9-12) that takes place each October over MEA Weekend at Castaway on Pelican Lake with over 350 other youth from Minnesota. It is sure to be a great weekend of laughter, faith growing, humor, friendship development and much more!!
The 2010 Event is scheduled for Oct 21-24. Check back soon for more details!
What to Bring: Warm and cool clothes - you never know what the weather will be like. It can get pretty chilly at night so plan accordingly. Good outdoor shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting a bit dirty are a must! The hot tubs will be open for us in the evening so bring a suit and towel. You will need to supply all of your own toiletries so be sure to bring what you need. MONEY will come in handy as we stop for dinner at McDonalds on Thursday and you may want spending money for the coffee shop, snack bar and store. Castaway has t-shirts and stuff like that for sale. Castaway does provide bedding but you may want a pillow or possibly even a blanket for our long ride.
DO NOT BRING: Tobacco, alcohol, guns, fireworks or animals. MP3 players and iPods are okay for the ride to and from camp but are not allowed during the MEA Getaway. We will collect them and keep them safe for you while we are at Castaway. Also, Cell Phones are NOT allowed during the weekend.
Expectations: There are certain things that we ask of call campers and counselours that will help ensure that everyone has a great weekend. We want everyone to fully participate in all aspects of the program, to respect the property at Castaway as well as each other and to use common sense. Please follow the directions of the MEA Camp Director and other staff during the weekend.
